There was a pity party for one this afternoon......
which lead me to think...and think....and think.....
Yes dear Followers, today was a day that started with a "T" and ended with a "y" - - - but really perhaps I should not let the judgment of one cloud my opinion of someone so precious.
When I went to pick up Matteo at school his teacher told me he had behavioral issues....now in hindsight (today is Sunday) - and believe me I have labored and labored over this statement, do I think he has behavioral issues?? NO. Do I think when it's time to jump Matteo will jump the loudest (as if possible) - YES. Do I think he will jump the most - ABSOLUTELY. Do I think he will be the last to sit down: MOST DEFINITELY. Do I think he is the most thoughtful, the most caring, and perhaps the most bored, MOST CERTAINLY. But "behavioral issues", you're a bit out of line Ms Teacher.
Let's see, what were the issues in school today: at music he wanted to spin in a circle, rather than sit and hit a drum..... so he had to sit in timeout.
At art he thought it funny when his friend covered his mouth and made funny sounds, so Matteo did too, again timeout chair.
Of course Matteo should not disrupt the class, but he likes to make others laugh and at 4 he does not know how to project that properly or when appropriate. And do I anticipate this all changing any time soon - No. So if you'll continue to read and support me, I just might continue to share my heartache for my Darling - because why should he have to go to school and not show his individuality? Would I prefer he turn into a robot and follow order..... no.
So I'll see you Tuesday :-)
e.
PS- In hindsight that pity party was all wrong, I should have celebrated my son's uniqueness and his ability to ride a bike which toot toot I'm so horribly proud of not only does he do it, but he initiated it!!
It will all work out Mommy :-) :-)
