What a busy day we had today. We started out with a library program for Chloe May - which didn't go EXACTLY as planned. You see having arrived at library 15 minutes early (in order to make copies), I let Matteo and Chloe play in the room while I made copies (for our niece's homemade Christmas gift). Of course they were both within earshot and eyeshot - - however it only takes a split second for something to go wrong, doesn't it? Well today that is EXACTLY how long it took for - 5 minutes before class - Chloe May to empty no less than 10 puzzles (containing 8-10 puzzle pieces each) on the floor. Needless to say we were late for class - :-I
Next home for lunch, putting Chloe May down for a nap, letting Matteo watch sesame street (taped) so I could run to a CSE meeting in order to learn the results of all of those evaluations and tests we had conducted on Matteo in early November. RESULTS: Matteo does not qualify for speech (I told his teacher and she is probably STILL scratching her head) - however he does qualify for 2 days a week (30 min each) for OT. Check back in January to see if we move ahead with same.
Next, and FINALLY, our field trip to Matteo's preschool, though on a different day then he goes, to pick up his friend Caleb. There is something about this little boy's smile that just every time melts me - and this time was no less. And then - for reasons still unknown to me - when he exited class: on all 4s (his Grandma later came to explain that this is his dinosaur walk). Well let me tell you, Matteo didn't waste a mini second to join right in, and so I exited the school Chloe May in arm with two dinosaurs and I was fully charged again, back on top. The car ride home was just everything I could have hoped for, laughter, smiles and well (thank you Sarah) animal crackers (yes I shared Chloes)!!!
And always an added bonus to share some pleasantries with Caleb's Gamma.
