A clean bill of health at the dentist - see you in another 6 months Doctor !!!
And today at our speech evaluation, Matteo did very well yet again! The therpaist (a new one) - did say how very bright she found Matteo to be (I did ask her whether she says that to all parents - to which she responded "no"). She acknowledged he does have difficulty with some letters (i.e. "r"), but said that it is an "emerging skill" - in which sometimes he says the "r" and sometimes he says a "w" - so it is still being learned. Also she said that some letters (i.e. l, r & s) are letters that can be learned in some children as late as the age of 7 - hence don't be overly concerned if a child has trouble with those letters. She found his sentence structure to be very mature and hence really did not think we qualified for speech - though of course she would go over her notes and write up a complete evaluation. So on 12/6/10 - I go back to our local school district to find out whether he qualifies, but so far I'm thinking no.
We go for our OT evaluation on Tuesday - so check back. And while the whole evaluation process is interesting, it IS very tiring - and I'm not even the one being tested. Truly cannot wait for this whole experience to be over.
