Tuesda....OH WHAT IS THAT SMELL???

Well today started out with a small preparation for our playdate with a school chum. We asked Daddy to come downstairs to help us vacuum, however when we went downstairs, there was an ever so faint smell in the room. WHAT WAS THAT STINK? We chalked it up to a 60 degree day here on Tall Tree and proceeded with our clean-up. Buy why oh why did Mommy open the bathroom door downstairs??? Because when she did, she discovered that our shower (which almost never gets used) had overflowed into the bathroom and oh what a mess!

Hence Daddy had a new job today, to fix this mess and clean it up. So he started out by fixing the plumbing with the help of our dear retired neighbor Joe. This took approximately 4 hours, the whole time Matteo and I cannot shower, use water or go downstairs. (no wonder Mommy is so exhausted).

Here is Daddy fixing the plumbing for lack of any technical terms (of which I know none).

Daddy also had to dig up the trap out front. (I doubt any grass will grow back here until Spring).

Ok the job is completed and Daddy is about to pour some sulfuric acid down the drain per the recommendation of someone at a plumbing store. Let me just say if this was Gramps, he would go down there sans the mask and funny mittens.

Ok, so now it's Mommy's turn to do her part. Please follow closely at the story gets a bit complicated. I told Daddy I would run to the store to get a mop and bucket (as the one I purchased early this mornig was not to my satisfaction). So I took Matteo in the wind, rain and our pj's to the store. This is normally a 15 min ride, however due to holiday traffic, this turned into an extra 10 min. Okay, 25 minutes to get there, no biggie, i'm helping Daddy. Oh did I note, having to keep a sleepy matteo awake the whole time, so each time I wake him, he cries and screams? Took Matteo out of the car (rain) (wind) put him in a carriage and we go to the store to get a special mop for Daddy. Find the mop, stand in line(a christmas line no less) (matteo ccrying because he wants the shiney candy pacakges - no idea of their contents - Mommy feeling ill with a light lunch-), put Matteo back in the car and head to pick up some dog food in the neighboring area. Again, chjristmas traffic. Head back home....RING RING..oh wait Daddy is calling. He is worried because we took so long (pitter patter of my heart), see you soon Daddy...oh wait what is this daddy is saying, he ccleaned the floor on his hands and knees and doesn't need the mop, doesn't need the bucket? The mop and bucket I took Matteo out to get, the mop and bucket I fought Christmas traffic to get, the mop and bucket I stood in line with a crying toddler for, Daddy doesn't need.

OH YES, IT'S FIGHT TIME. I informed Daddy that when I got home, HE would be the one taking Matteo to return the mop and bucket and how very displeased I was with him. Imagine the nerve, him cleaning up when he knew I went out FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE of getting him a mop.

When I arrived home Daddy was so pleased with the mop, he asked me to wrap it up for Christmas for him. He went on and on about our great new mop. THe following picture is that of DAddy getting read to MOP the bathroom floor downstairs.

Daddy liked the mop so so much, that he continued with the upstairs! I told him Matteo was under his supervision for the moment, so guess who decided to help Daddy mop----matteo!

This picture was taken for the sole purpose of showing you the huge amount of water on the floor that matteo caused while in DAddy's ccare. Also to show you what a great mop we now have :-) All thaniks to Mommy.

And for those of you wonderings how our siding is coming..here is a picture of what we are uusing our siding for, a race ramp. Yes yes, I changed my mind on the color, they didn't have it, so I am waiting for a new sample to be delievered.
With such a day today, i'm shear exhausted as you must be from reading my rant. Thank you ever so kindly :-)

PS Daddy and Mommy made up as he made me laugh with his great love for his new mop, Merry Christmas early Daddy !!!!
