Well folks, with Christmas and Chanukah together this year, you can tell why we had to combine the two holidays (not that we are Jewish), I simply wanted Matteo to be culture enriched. Here Daddy and Matto are making homemade Christmas ornaments for our tree. Well actually Daddy is, but you'll see, Matteo is soon to get into the action.....
you see, Mommy really wanted Matteo's handprint, so after trying to bribe Matteo (of whicch he would take no part), I took his hand and stuck it in the dough and presto: his handprint. Below is Matteo's reaction. Clearly you would think I stuck his hand in a bed of nails (not the case), it was flour, salt and water, nothing gross! But boy oh boy, did Matteo carry on.
Matteo was much more receptive when it came to potato pancake time. I think he thought it was just "pancakes" and hence dove right in and enjoyed them. It was only later that I come to learn (via a friend - Sarah's blog) that you can enjoy them with applesauce or sour cream. WHO KNEW? Matteo enjoyed his this time around with some milk.
And once again, after viewing our friend Sarah's blog we learned our camera too has a 10 second timer :-) Apparently you can learn a lot from a friend, or just reading the directions on your own devices! So finally, the woman behind the camera (mainly) about an hour or two before eating 5-6 potato pancakes made me sick for the rest of the day. I think I will stick to being Catholic this year and enjoy some pasta, Matteo on the other hand, after going through the hand ornament might convert :-)
That's right put Giulio to work! Oh that's right Giulio tried to poison you, glad you're feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great you're showing Matteo all the holidays and there traditions. And I love to see pictures of you and Giulio together!
