Santa & Tree

Though we were up a bit later than usual Saturday night, that didn't keep us in bed any extra time today as wee were all excited to go and have breakfast with S A N T A

Matteo's big bear hug to Santa says it all.

Matteo was very ready with list in hand and also verbally to tell Santa exactly what he had wished for - as well as to share what the tongue-tied Chloe May wanted.

Oh to be 5!

Then after a quick potty break at home, we ventured along to cut our Christmas tree - last year was our first time cutting it and with the mild temps this Sunday, we figured today was as good a chance as any.  And while we normally wait another 2 weeks to get the tree, I think we are starting to celebrate everything a bit earlier this year - so the magic lasts an extra week or two for Matteo & Chloe May.

After searing for about 45 minutes (Matteo couldn't understand Daddy & My concept that the tree would talk to us and let us know which one was our "perfect" choice) - we found "Her."

Yes Daddy - despite the wagon ride that we waited for (and never came), you are going to have to carry that tree 1.5 miles back to the truck!  And really isn't it all the more Merry?

While Chloe May napped, Matteo & Daddy got the tree ready for it's trimmings and decorating.

But when Dolly woke up, she was all to happy to don a santa hat and help out.

And last - and perhaps most anticipated was the train!

Funny the tree seemed so much more in the woods - but Daddy and I agree, she's ours and we wouldn't have it any other way :-)

After an hour long walk around the neighborhood we came home, grabbed our pillows and sat by the fire watching the train.  A perfect end to a festive weekend.

Last of all, while we are excited for Santa and all his surpises, let's not forget that this time of year is about Family, giving of yourself, your time and most of all your love.  May  you find the merriness in each day. Posted by Picasa
