Well friends, our camera is officially gone [sigh].
On saturday, after we managed to get our stump just below ground level (of which I have awsome pictures on my camera, and a few movies for your popcorn pleasure) Matteo and I ran out to the store to get some grass seed (b/c unlike Jules, I am so sure our grass with grow in these friggid temperatures). So when I get home, I get out of the car and realize THE CAMERA, my faithful campaign last week, WAS ON TOP OF MY CAR PRE-TRIP!!! So Jules, Matteo and I get in the car, search for our faithful friend. Jules walks home from the store, Matteo and I meet him halfway on the road, no camera. So of course this leads to some back and forth, of which Jules was given no option but to move out of the house (dont worry it never lasts--obviously I am speaking from experience). So after an hour of him being gone (did I mention I had his credit card?), Matteo and I are hungry so we go and get take out (seriously who wouldn't). Now imagine a mother, carrying her two year old toddler and a box of food (oh it was good Italian food) IN THE RAIN!.
We go home, I am preparing the food (again I would send a pic of my food, but......the camera is still gone) and I hear Matteo saying "Daddy home Daddy home" ....well Daddy was at the window waving a white piece of paper. I let him into MY HOME (remember I kicked him out) and he shows me a FIELD REPORT..from the police! Apparently he was so sad over me losing our camera, he went out to look for it, asked 3-4 ten year olds he saw walking on the road if the saw a camera, to which they waved their hands saying yes they had his camera and they take off running. Jules RUNS AFTER THEM SAYING "I just want my camera, I'm not mad" , a port aurthority police officer sees this (again a 30 year old running after 10 year olds in the rain and I kid you not he is covered in mud from his knees down - remember he was taking out stump). So Jules has to stand in the pouring rain with his hands on the police vehicle, until a real police officer arrives and then they take the kids home and Jules is given a field report. Funny thing is I had to point out about 5 times how bad it looks for Jules to be running down a semi-main road running after children covered in mud in a good amount of rain!
And did I mention it was our 6 year anniversary :-)
Jules was invited to stay for supper and he has been here ever since (a good thing as of this post).
Also, happily our new best friend camera **hopefully** arrives tomorrow of which I am not going to put him/her on my car roof top for at least 12-15 months (when I want a new camera).
Goodbye dear camera friend, I'm just happy there was nothing indecent on your precious memory card.
WOW, did that really all happen! Sounds like a script for a new movie. I'd definitely see it!
ReplyDeletePoor Giulio I can picture him running down the street after those kids. I couldn't help but laugh! Sorry Giulio!!
