Daddy dessert night at school - - 

and if I didn't volunteer to help scoop ice cream, clean up, etc. I never would have believed how totally oblivious these fathers are to their children when moms aren't around.....and the kids know it :-)  (Sorry Daddy - but you're wonderful chaperoned!).

And yes, if you call our house, the kids will often give the wrong name of whom you are speaking to.  

Fun playdates

After a fun playdate at our pal Charlie's house - we came home just in time to have a babysit/playdate with our friend Elissa while her Mommy went to a tea party/father's day Party at school.

Needless to say, Chloe May & Matteo were tickled pink.

 

And at the close of the school day, our friends all stayed for some yummy meatloaf and mashed potatoes.  Also some frozen left over 5 1/2 year old cupcakes were a hit and a wonderful melody was sang by all.

17 years.

**Please excuse the late posting**

On June 1, 2012, Daddy and I celebrated being together 17 years!  Hot dam that's a long time.  Yes, we were high school sweethearts (something I don't advertise) - had a good handful of break-ups along the way (never lasted long) - but in the end, always found our way back to each other.

This was my prom - taken about one year after we started dating.

this was our first wedding we attended together - taken about 10 months after we started dating.

And I believe our first Thanksgiving - 

 

Our memories are bountiful, and yet sometimes I think the good times are just beginning have two little Darlings to call our own and add to the joy of our days.

And yes, apparently I do need my v-8 today - my apologies for crooked pictures!  :-)

Sunday beach

 After a great game of soccer today where the teams were evenly matched and it was a really great game -

Daddy & I took the kids to the sound.

we went at the wrong time - high tide but I have since bookmarked the tide schedule (thanks Mrs. E) - and will not make that mistake again.  however it was fun to watch the tide "leave" - and Daddy and Matteo still got in plenty of swim time.

truth be told, Daddy & I were not on the best terms....and we leave it at that.

I've been enjoying a nightly walk with our neighbor for about 30 minutes.  This gives Daddy plenty of time with matteo & Chloe  without Mommy there.  Daddy is much more artistic then Mommy as evidenced in the photos below and he teaches Matteo about structures, etc.

Truth be told, sometimes I feel inadequate not being this smart.  e.

strawberries

I've been meaning to take the kids strawberry picking...

 but forgot that we don't have to go far.  

 

I noticed the seeds on the berries are so much more pronounced when picked from our own garden.
