Bday fun

Why all so dressed up........

We've got some bouncing to do - at Tyler's 5th birthday party!!!

Followed by a treasure hunt (Tyler is front and center with the green shirt and the cap on)

Great friends, fun food and exciting atmosphere, yes, these two are exhausted! :-)

However, Matteo did muster up some energy at home to try out his new rollerblades he has waited patiently for over a month!

Check back at weeks end to see if he has made any progress!  Cheers enjoy the start of a new week tomorrow.

Never to old to learn

Today when our friend Yuuki came over for a ride, he bought with him his existing playdate in progress (as often happens and which we love).

And Matteo has taken to learning Japanese: we are up to 7 words!  Check back to see how our learning is coming.

Green truck & ABC

Taking advantage of this week's beyond gorgeous weather, we have dusted off our old green truck.

Though Daddy informs me since I have been in an accident with both cars, I am not allowed to drive the green truck!

And most times the good big brother (honesty is a tough pill) - Matteo is helping Chloe May to learn her ABC's - as demonstrated in the below ABC puzzle.

Accident

So for the 2nd time this week I have been in an accident.

The first time was Monday on our way to visit Oma - I was the first car in a three car accident - though no damage sustained to anyone so we all moved forward (Daddy's truck had a few scratches, but nothing worth pursuing). Stopped at a red light I was the first car at the light - and as we all know (or should) green DOES NOT mean "go", rather "proceed with caution" - - because really people run red lights all the time. So when the light turns green, I take an extra second to look around before going, well the fellow two cars back didn't heade that advice and rather just starts going (though admittedly he was playing with his gps) - again no damage we all moved on.

However today after taking the kids to the park, walking back to my car I saw the below hit and just knew ...sure enough I was hit.  Not many cars in the lot when I pulled in and nobody when we left, but .... alas the cup is half full we all have our health and no one was in the car.  Ironically when at the park I knew Daddy had a big conference call scheduled and I kept calling him pre-call telling him I had a really bad feeling (thinking it was about the call) - - but I come to find out it was really about the car.  So police report filed, scheduled repair and we are back in good shape!

HOwever dare I say someone is walking around with bad karma above their head.  Posted by Picasa

Oma

Today Matteo, Chloe & I went to visit their great-grandparents - a 1.5 hour ride each way - and boy was it worth it!

Seeing the smile on Oma's face and talking to Poppi Lou was simply priceless. They listened intently to the Dopey stories Matteo told - laughed at all of Chloe May's knock knock jokes and were impressed at how well Matteo says his prayers.

Poppi & Chloe May sharing a little secret.

After that long car ride, I allowed the kids some extra outside time tonight and it looks like it paid off - what do you say?

Mother's Day

After getting up and mowing half the lawn this morning, I then got to cook breakfast for everyone - Happy Mother's day to me - doing what I do best and enjoy :-)

After a productive morning at home - I ventured to a friend's BBQ while Daddy stayed home to try and pay for that new computer of his. When I returned early evening, we packed everyone up and went to our local beach where it was the most gorgeous low tide I have ever seen there - complete with tide pools (BONUS!!). Matteo quickly wanted to go in, of which I was more than happy to abide and roll up his pants.....

Only problem was, he kept going deeper and deeper, until finally

he just jumped right in :-)

Love a 4 1/2 year old - so free.

Happy Mother's Day - I know mine was.
