snip snip snip

Well we all decided to "lighten up" today and hence headed out to get our haircuts.

Here is Daddy's new do. (can you tell they cut it - because I sure paid for it!).

I call this the Amy-inspired do. See Amy, we are still twins :-)

And little Matteo is back to being able to see agian (previous the hair was in his eyes).

Best part of the whole thing: a lollypop for Matteo.

And pre-haircut, Matteo invited Grandma over his house and he hopes she will come.

Krazy Kids!

Today Matteo and Mommy were invited to an indoor playground, where Matteo spent 4 hours climbing, jumping, following the lights and best of all enjoying the company of some good friends.

Here is Matteo climbing. Focus closely, he is hard to catch.

Next, Matteo really enjoyed climbing this wall of whatever. Mommy enjoyed watching him, as I was hoping his legs would be very tired at night (they were!).

Here is Matteo waiving to Mommy from inside a tube. Better you than me in there Matteo :-)

Finally Matteo just didn't want to leave, but after 4 hours, we did :-)

And here is a quick lesson in computer for those of you not so computer savy, when something is underlined and/or turned a different color, CLICK ON IT -- - GRAMPS. (please now go and click on "crackberry" from my previous post).

So today is sure to be a great day and even if your day is not as great or as joyous as ours, we will share our good news with you and that will make you too have a great day. Remember to focus on the positive and Amy if Katelyn's teeth are bothering her, remember what a good day it is that she HAS and is getting teeth, nice healthy ones no doubt :-) See how we turn situations around?

And always as a bonus, we have matteo and his two year old antics :-) Enough said there :-) hehe. Amy you will see in approximately another 15-17 months.

Crackberries

I am so so astonished at this new gadget on the market for TODDLERS that I had to comment. However I love love that it is being labeled a "crackberry" which, in my opinion, is the perfect term for it. (I just had to explain the term "crackberry" to Jules and perhaps you too will want to hear my definition of what it is: like crack (which you can easily get hooked on it is my understanding), this "toy" will allow your child to use it like a blackberry (equally as addicting I understand) and be hooked just as easily. Anyway, perhaps down the line somewhere Matteo will receive this as a gift, however refer to my blog yesterday please where Matteo and his friend most enjoyed playing in a box and then today where he enjoyed lining up his cars. I feel as though the simpliest toys are the best and allow a toddlers imigination to really flourish. What is your though? email me/ dont crackberry me - - - haha.

Would love to hear some comments, though I must admit the comments on New York Daily News (scroll to the bottom) really make me laugh. And yes sadly, I read the "rag" as it is referred to online. What can I say, I"m addicted (wink wink).

An eventful Thursday

Well today we had two apppointments, one of which consisted of visiting mommy's doctor. Mommy was very nervous for this visit, however Daddy, always the reassuring one, assured her everything would be fine and yes he was right. Baby has a heartbeat, which when you are knocking on the door to 5 months, is always a good sign (five months! AUGH!). Too bad stress has my appetite down, however that was remedied for a bit with a celebration lunch at Friendly's - - Matteo Daddy and I all shared a milkshake CHOCOLATE with whip cream.....mmmmm Amy did I make your mouth water? :-)

Below is a picture of what Daddy calls the LIE (long islandd expressway). Notice all the cars........just sitting there.....haha how many times have we gone to gramps' or come home from there and . just sat there on the parkway???

Next Mommy was so so excited to receive my maternity clothes that I ordered online from Old Navy. You see there is no local Old Navy store, hence it is worth the $7 shipping in order to receive them. Throw in free returns and Mommy is happy. You see, with Old Navy their sizes are really weird, I am in some items a M, others a L and yet the XL works too............. I know confusing. So while there is a box and bag here, they contain double sizes of which more than half is being returned. (TMI?)

Next after a rest, Matteo and Daddy are enjoying a bit more time together.

A simple gesture

What an out of the blue wonderful day Matteo and Mommy experienced today (Daddy of course had to work to pay for some bills). It all started with a simple gesture, a friend whom we have been unable to get together with us for a bit of time, IM'ed mommy early and offered to bring over bagels for breakfast! Well 1) I had just finished shoveling two driveways; (one for our dear 88 year old neighbor who pays me in outdated newspapers, it's really so tender and honestly I would work for free) and 2) because I"m pregnant and LOVE TO EAT!

Boy did our little friend really bring Matteo to life! He was running all over the house, calling her name, they were rambling back and forth to each other, a real good time.

Below is a picture of the two friends enjoying some quality time in a box (yes our toys are really that simple sometimes!)

Next, for those who know where Matteo sleeps you will find this hilarious, and for those who don't, I will let you use your imagination as this is Matteo's probably 4-5 time using this crib! Our new joke around the house is that the new baby will have a brand new crib when s/he arrives :-)

And finally after a 6 hour playdate and 3.5 hour nap (in which Mommy spent a half hour waking him), we thought it best after the nap to sit and relax and have some popcorn. Here Mommy makes a rare appearance (notice the baby bump) and Matteo is enjoying the best most feel-good view ever.

For those needing a little feel good, try kittens and yarn! And for those who feel good already, click the link and shake it like you're wearing a komoto! Matteo & I actually sing this song in Japanese haha if you can believe it. Though I think we sound more like "lalalalala" :-)

WILL THE SNOW EVER END/????

I HOPE NOT!!! Hey isn't that what winter is all about, snow, cold and snuggling!!! Here on Tall Tree we found ourselves in the middle of a snowy Tueseday (since school was in recess we did not attend). Hence, what is a Mommy, Daddy and toddler to do, well take to the outsides of course. Though in Daddy's praise, he stayed outside an extra hour more than Mommy.

Here you will notice we found a new friend to take in our wheelbarrow, TURTLE!! Sorry to all those who like tag sales, Mommy does not and every time Matteo uses this tag sale wheelbarrow ($5), it makes me want to wash :-) haha. that is pretty funny. Ok sorry for those I insulted once again, to each his own.

Below Matteo is attempting to take Turtle into his little house, however tag sale wheelbarrow did not fit, hence requiring the assistance of Daddy.

Next to the Streets! It seems as though this winter Matteo has taken to enjoying walking on the streets during snow storms - - here the snow is mounting! haha. Again, please notice Turtle in tag sale wheelbarrow.

Finally, after a long walk and delicious lunch, Matteo had to rest. Here he is sound asleep inside his carriage and yes folks that is where he stayed until he woke up :-) (sans the plastic of course and in the garage). Oh the storys he will have to tell when he gets older :-)

Well, we certainly enjoy ourselves here on Tall Tree and perhaps the key is to try to find the goodness and happiness in each day. Somtimes you have to look under the smallest rock and other times it hits you like a ton of bricks :-)
