Tuesday - photo day

Today at school was PICTURE DAY!! So of course I dressed Matteo in his holiday colors (red and brown) and proceeded to ask him who we would see at school. (No reply). I told him "Caleb" to which Matteo repeats over and over "Caleb Grandma Caleb Grandma" numerous times. Clearly Matteo has not forgotten our friend Caleb's Grandma. We hope she visits again soon (especially on a Tuesday for school) :-)

Next, while Mommy was at the dentist, Daddy took Matteo to the duck pond, so from hereon out, "Our Story" (pun intended) will be told by Daddy:

We watched the ducks for a minute or two. That got boring so we decided to go into the nearby deli and buy some rolls. I asked the clerk for a few rolls to feed the ducks. He gave us 1/2 dozen footlongs! I told him they weren't stale... but he said to take them anyway.

So here we are feeding the ducks. Matteo, like a block of iron, kept creeping towards the magnetic pond. Seriously. Every 5 seconds, "Matteo, too close. Matteo, back up. Matteo, step back."

The ducks must be really used to people feeding them. They ate the bread right out of my hand.

The ducks weren't the only one's interested in the bread...

Then to warm up, and for a special treat, I brought Matteo back into the deli for his first hot cocoa. He took two sips. We head outside to drink the rest together on the bench by the ducks. Half way across the parking lot he doesn't want to hold my hand. I plea but no go. So I have to pick him up. He start wailing, so of course it's time to go back into the car, because he's crying for mommy, because daddy is so evil haha.

And that's were we spent the next 15 minutes while we wait for mommy - in the dentist parking lot reading women's magazines together to pass the time.

Tune in again for more exciting stories!

Monday leftovers

In case there was any question as to how we spent our Monday night, the usual "playdoh" request. Here are Matteo's "friends" from left to right: cat, snail (he was a new request), "race car", sally and mater. The last 3 are from the cars movie. finally the large blue blob is a turtle reminscent of our trip to the aquarium.

and in case there was any question as to the master-mind behind the creation, here's Daddy!

Lastly, thank you Grandma and Gramps for Matteo's Thanskgiving card and $$ :-) Our pig is certainly getting fat.

Mondayzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Monday started out with the usual request for playdoh. Here is Matteo with his playdoh "scissors" operating on Mater (sp?). Of course then Matteo had to go and wake up daddy so daddy could make the usual three cats: green, yellow and blue, all of which Matteo loves to play with all morning and feed playdoh pizza. I know I don't get the whole "cats and pizza" either, but he won't stop talking about it.

Next for breakfast, Matteo had some banana, which he was very insistent on having.

Our day was pretty lazy from then-on-in. Showers, playing in the basement (mmmmm in front of a warm fire to dry our hair), then our friend Hemmie came over for lunch and now Matteo is napping in the garage (as is typical) while Daddy rakes leaves. I figured I could post this early as I am antiicpating a very lazy and relaxed evening.

Ok hope to see you back here tomorrow. :-)

playdoh playdoh Sunday

Here's a photo from Saturday night, take note........ Matteo loves his playdoh (thank you Caleb and his Mommy for such an awsome birthday present. I didn't understand when you said how playdoh can keep you busy for HOURS, but yes, it certainly does). Can you tell how ecstatic Matteo is over the green cat in the background that Daddy made him. Of course all night long (and over the course of 3 different color cats), the one thing they have in common is they all eat playdoh pizza.

I'm sorry whose birthday present was that? Daddy has just as much fun. Ohhhh the joy of being a child...hehehe.

Now please recall the above pictures of Matteo and his playdoh, here is Matteo, same setting, same pj's only difference IT'S MORNING!! Yes when we woke up this morning, the first words out of Matteo's mouth were "playdoh" and "green cat."

Okay, after another 2 hours of playdoh, I kid you not, Mommy Daddy and Matteo undertook some Christmas shopping and bought presents for all of Matteo's cousins. As a reward, we treated ourselves to Red Lobster. Here is our precious Matteo showing the soon to be dinner, his new set of Cars.

Daddy and Matteo very excited to be at Red Lobster.

And making a rare appearance, Mommy and Matteo, sharing some salad, of which I was happy to let Matteo eat the majority of it.mmmmm more biscuits for Mommy.

And here we are back at the playdoh table. And in keeping with our two night tradition, eating hot salty preztels right out of the toaster. Good night everyone.

Here's a preview of what's to come this week: Monday - hopefully leaves; Tuesday - camera is in Daddy's hands as Mommy has the dentist (OUCH); Wed- Friday (no plans as of this post). However please bear in mind, this is all subject to change as life with a toddler typically does. :-)

Special Report: November 15 2008

Today's blog is sponsored by Daddy' dry humor. Enjoy.

Today was terrific. Daddy slept until 8a, lazy lazy, because he worked until 3a. Sympathy sympathy bla bla.

Auntie Colleen called early this morning during Matteo's second breakfast (daddy's first breakfast of 1/2 an english muffin). Matteo loves talking on the phone:

Today was a mild day so we decided to give Walter a bath. By "we" I mean not Mommy. She just takes the pics (while not on the phone, computer, ipod touch, etc).

A while back we took apart a custom entertainment center (of semi-exotic / rare wood). I kept some of the pieces because I like to have spare wood to fix things. So here we are in a moment of boredom. I took dowels, a 2x4, and a 1x1, and we built this amazing... well I'll let you guess what it is. It doesn't matter. Matteo just loved making something with daddy and the drill gun.

Walt after a bath. Sorry, e picks the photos...

When mommy went out to the store she picked Matteo up an ABC puzzle. He loves it.
Eyewitnesses reported that during the whole ride home he repeated "show daddy abcd!".

Uh Oh... what's this all envelope all about?? Hm we'll have to wait and see!!

And that's it for today. Stay tuned for more adventures. Same blog time, same blog url.

Miscellaneous Photos of Days Past

With Mommy being sick lately (and Daddy laying on the couch--haha), here are some photos from the days past that I was too weak to post *cough cough*

Clearly Matteo doesn't need paper when he has the palm of his hand to color on.

Daddy was taking very good care of Matteo downstairs while Mommy rested upstairs. They used their imagination to make a giraffe and an elephant (please don't ask which is which, I just smile and nod, come on he's two in charge of a 32 year old HAHA).

And now for our infamous igloo. Ok now I know what you are thinking, for those of you who have been in our basement you know with the wood burning stove (hereinafter referred to as "WBS") it is NEVER less than 80-85 degrees, on a cold day, so WHO in their right mind makes an "igloo". Again refer to above where Mommy was upstairs resting. I prefer to call it a Dollhouse. I will bring it up for discussion this evening and let you know the result.

Jules comments: the igloo was to keep us cool.

Friday...drip drip drip

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

Today was a rather sleepy day, though we did some Christmas shopping early in the morning (of which we cannot show our purchases). Then Matteo napped and Mommy napped while Daddy took a conference call. The rest of the day was pretty lazy, so no pictures and especially no pictures of Mommy and her drippy nose.
