Friendly Tuesday

With Daddy still gone, we continued to go about our day as usual.

After a light food shopping, Matteo went to school and Chloe May and I came home to a surprise friend waiting in our driveway - always fun! We played, picked Matteo up and then our friends came back and stayed for supper and some pool time. Now mind you these are the friends that invite us to their beyond gorgeous pool, and well, when we took out our pool, everyone was just as tickled pink (though Matteo did ask two times if we could dig a hole and put our pool in).

Pool size no matter, Matteo loves to jump!

After pool, dinner, more pool, bike riding and ice cream sandwiches, well a good scrubbing was in order! My tub has never been a 4 seater, but it was fun!

and for those of you wondering how the garden is coming, in a word FABULOUS:

Poppi arrives tomorrow - so our kitchen should re-commence early Thursday.

Leaving on a jet plane

With Daddy's second business trip upon us (photo taken at 4:30 AM - time of departure)

I thought it best to keep the kids busy. Hence, after Matteo's OT - I took them to the Ecology center, where we enjoyed - what else, being silly.

Seeing chickens, llamas, owls, ducks, donkeys, horse, sheep, etc. and well a little closer then I would prefer to a bear!

Then to cool off to our friend's house for a swim. And boy am I telling you Matteo loves nothing more than to jump into the water!

sunday

Though not so well this week, Matteo is still enjoying soccer!

It's been awhile but my Dolly is still small enough to ball up and sleep in my arms....lovely.

And today was a rather calm and peaceful day with Daddy and I enjoying some time gardening and the kids playing in the yard.

saturday

Having left the house at 7:45 AM - to run errands with the children, I rewarded them with a trip to our (semi) local farm where he spent a half hour picking strawberries and 2 hours playing on their toys. The result, red mouths, gorgeous smiles and a great time by all (expect Daddy who stayed home to work).

I do believe my best sleeping picture yet.

Kitchen - Pause

Having an appointment back home, Poppi left and the kitchen is on hold.

And in case you are wondering Matteo and Chloe May are still together at night.

WE WON THE LOTTERY!

Well call me lucky and buy me a lotto ticket - - - today Matteo received FREE PRESCHOOL 5 half days a week - and not just any preschool, but rather a top of the line, caviar of preschools! You see I was going to send Matteo 3 half days to preschool (though he qualified for Kindergarden, I just think holding him would be in his best interest, a decision Jules and I have wrestled with for about 2 years now- crazy I know). So I signed him up for this "lottery" in our District for "fun" - whatever, never really thinking I would put him in. However when our named was called TWELFTH, well at that moment I knew, "yes, Matteo will indeed go to this 5 half days" because realistically he should be in 5 full days of kindergarten. So if I wasn't so cheap I'd buy a lottery ticket...but I am :-)

And yes, the kitchen is moving along steadily (hope you are not bored of the updates).

The man behind the skill.

And while Jules helped Poppi the first full day, at this point work is too demanding and he can only come out on occasion.

Sixteen years

Sixteen years ago, Jules and I started dating...sometimes I reflect upon it all and feel as though we have built an empire so to speak. We have dated, married - and as a result of our marriage we purchased a home (some parts of which we have re-done) - we have had two children and some cars along the way.... all because one day this friend of mine said "let me take you out, I'll take you anywhere you want to go" - to which I replied "no" - so we stayed friends. Until he one day approached me and said someone else wanted to date him so if I didn't, he would date someone else.... the next day was June 1, 1995-- and the rest is, as they say, history.

More kitchen progress: We have a pantry,

some wall and base cabinets,

and please don't ask about the condition of our garage! For a family that regularly cleans and sweeps the garage on Sundays, I am embarrassed.

Oh yes and how appropriate today we have begun a new project, details to follow.
