Parade and birds - oh my!

With the 4th of July falling on a Sunday this year, the annual parade was scheduled for the following day due to Church services.

So we arose early and we sure to get a great seat (under a shady tree) down town.

After the parade we came home to enjoy some down time in our backyard (feels like forever since we were back here!) and low and behold our birds have hatched!!! Below is a photo of a bird waiting for his Mommy to come and bring lunch! What a great treat this was to watch and listen to, glad we didn't miss the simplicity of it today :-)

And I'm thinking of going to play LOTTO!!!! Two days in a row Chloe May fell asleep in a swing!!!!

4th of July

Happy 4th of July - - -

Today we visited our friends a town over and what a delight it was!! First while Matteo swam in the pool, one of the guests at the party put Chloe May to sleep by pushing her in the swing...something I have never experienced, only heard of (a child falling asleep in the swing) - - however the proof in the pudding :

and I often notice when out - children gravitate towards me - once again, the proof is in the pudding :

and just when everyone was all tuckered out from the great swimming, food and fun, Mommy and Chloe went for a dip in a HEATED (87 degree), in-ground pool - - -

Truly a blessed and happy 4th by many!! Hope you took time to appreciate the meaning of 4th of July today and thanks for stopping by - - looking forward to a celebratory week.

ool

Today we enjoyed a rather lenghtly visit to our friends house where Matteo swam in her in-ground ool (swanky) for no less than 4 hours!!! Mommy was so proud of him - - this was Matteo's first real time swimming in a ool - he used his arm floaties (though one was deflated a bit I think this helped him learn to keep himself up better) - Matteo enjoyed jumping off the sides of the ool very much and really did an excellent job swimming...ironically I was saddened we were entering the summer season without him knowing to swim and was going to sign him up for swim lessons in the Fall, however given the challenge of wanting to be in the deep end with the other kids (and i mean DEEP end) - Matteo rose to the occasion and really made me proud :-)

I guess if you give a child enough space they will learn from watching others..........

PS - in ccase you are not familiar ... an "ool" is a "pool" without the "p" - just a funny little sign at the "ool" we were in today. I hope we left it the way we found it haha.

what an awesome way to kick off summer!!!!!! Hooray for ools!!!

A day in the country

Another visit to the country where Daddy took the day off work to once again help our beloved Gramps ready his apartment downstairs for rental........

though our trip was not without sadness as we had to bring our Darling Grandma back home ....... so in order to give her time to settle back in, I took Matteo and Chloe to visit Jules' family (who live on 4.5 acres) and to me the picture below just says "innocent" and "summer"

wouldn't you agree?

PS - that little boy with Matteo (fresh off a quad ride) is Matteo's cousin - Rocco (age 5).
