Daily posts (almost) of our life here on the Lane.
If we keep it simple, laugh frequently and smile often, our day was a successful one.

Green continues....

....When asked to smile this is what I received....
(yes once again he insisted on wearing his PJs today - though I assured him today was the last day of wearing them and tomorrow we are back in shorts).
And Ms. Chloe May seems to be filling out a bit---could the pudding be going to her hips instead :-)

Check back later in the week - - we have a busy week planned as I hope to get Matteo his own library card (thanks for the thought Sarah) - - this might be my first outing out with both children ALONE! Also Chloe's first bath (we typically wait a month). Busy busy.
PS Sorry Amy I have seen you called, will try to call back soon, until then lets work on your blog missy :-)

Green Hat Day
Blogged by:
ellissa
Lucky Us! Aunt Adrienne sent Chloe May a whole box full of hats today for when Chloe gets a little older....however guess who loved this the most---MATTEO!!!
Naturally he picked out the green hat and wore it all day and even slept next to it.
Oh if you think this picture was taken in early morning or evening you are sadly mistaken..this picture was taken around 2ish in the afternoon...seems matteo insisted on wearing PJS all day, which was fine with Mommy as we were in the middle of a small tropical storm. Good thinking Matteo---if only i had a pair that fit! (prob have about 15 lbs. to loose still---but that can always increase as Grandma left pudding here and as Grandma would say "a minute on my lips forever on my hips").

So long again Grandma

And before Grandma left - this was the result of my closet - -
As well as a clean bathroom, clean refrigerator, semi-straightened counter tops and a VERY wound up toddler :-)
Come back soon Grandma - but I doubt it as school starts next week. You will be missed, we have felt spoiled these past 3 weeks.
Oh where is Gramps you ask? Daddy met him halfway on the expressway - so I guess that means Gramps will have to sleep on his own couch or clean his car in his own driveway (haha you'd have to be reading the blog a long time to get those jokes - or just be vicious).

Andrew's visit continued.
Blogged by:

Grandma made her famous PB&J sandwiches for lunch - of which I am proud to say Andrew tried andd enjoyed one on BROWN bread for the first time and then proceeded to have seconds!
If only you knew the story behind this picture. Let's just say after 30 minutes of meltdown crying (kid you not -sadly), Matteo was send to his room and this is the result......Mommy was happy.
However let a toddler sleep from 5:15 to 6 PM and yes they indeed will be up until 9:45 PM! haha - - it was still worth it.
And lastly, the boys in the house enjoying some storytime before bed!

Nanny for a Day
Blogged by:
ellissa
Well, who needs a Nanny when you have Grandma!
Today Grandma stayed home with Matteo while Mommy, Daddy and Chloe all went out together and what a busy time we had. First Mommy got her haircut because really it won't happen again until the [yes i'm going to say it] HOLIDAYS come! They are fastly approaching - - and then Mommy Daddy and Chloe all ran 4 errands and were gone for a total of 3 hours! Now to some no biggie, but to Mommy THIS WAS HUGE! Very rare is it that she will leave Matteo with anyone - - for 3 hours---AWAKE!
Grandma must be pretty special and let me tell you - - yes she is.
However tomorrow our Dear Grandma leaves............. :-(

GRANDMA!
Blogged by:
ellissa
And with Wednesday night came our Darling Grandma :-)
Matteo quickly invited Grandma for a sleepover at his house and with the temps over 90 (inside and out) and our bedroom being the only room with A/C - - needless to say Grandma was thrilled :-)
However the slumber party didn't last too long because as Grandma often tells Matteo - - she has "old bones".
Alas Grandma woke up and did...what else...DISHES :-)
Thanks Grandma, but don't go too far, the dishes come back every day. hah.

Camping
Blogged by:

and not sure what brought on this unexpected camping trip, but once again Matteo requested to go camping with Jules Friday night......
which simply consists of him using his Santa Claus blanket as a bottom sheet and spreading it on the floor. But can i tell you ....Mommy LOVES when the two of them go camping..it means I have the whole bed to myself...which in this case lasted until 5:15 AM at which point Matteo woke up and insisted on eating breakfast :-)

Miracles....
Blogged by:
ellissa
Here on Tall Tree we received the most beautiful card today and inside the message was as sweet as could be - - -
All day today I reflected on this simple yet sweet message and realized how true it truly is. I only wish I did not begin to run short on patience around the 1st and 2nd of August before relizing how truly close we were to our Miracle.
Thank you Adel for pointing out the obvious.
"Miracles are worth the wait."

Home Sweet Home
Blogged by:

One last picture of Chloe before Big Brother and Daddy come to pick us up and we make that ever so scary first car trip home (though Daddy said he was not scared, Mommy could not get home - to our safe house - fast enough).
And Daddy loving a little alone time with his little girl! BACK TO WORK NOW DADDY!
Ironically, or not so ironically - today was the exact date last year that I had my surgery for my miscarriage and here today I stand bringing home my little girl. Sometimes time ccan be our best friend, you just need Faith.
