End of Year 2009

What a way to end the year...with a burst of a snow storm. Nothing major, but enough to make a polar snowman (Daddy & Matteo did this).

Nursing

Funny story, I went to a friend's gathering today - actually I only knew the hostess and her sister and their children of course. So I was in the living room off the kitchen speaking to the hostess' sister about nursing (we were both nursing our children). Actually we were whispering about it or speaking in a low tone.....anyway one of the mother's at the part was talking about an "adult" (follow me) toy that she had ordered! Now I was in the living room off the kitchen with Matteo and 2 other young kids and though they may not have known what she was speaking about....I came home that night and thought it odd that here we were whispering about nursing and then her topic of converation in the company of babes! Sometimes I wonder about today's world..............

Visiting Day

This Christmas was the year of the dinosaur and dragon for Matteo. Not sure why he has to line them up, where they are going or why Daddy feels the need to photograph it (this isn't the only picture), but here they are :-)

Today we traveled up to see cousin Jesse - who was good enough to share cartons and cartons of clothes with Chloe May ! Thanks cousin Jesse.

And no silly, Chloe isn't a doll...well then again she's our Dollie.

PS - The sunday after a major holiday is NOT the time to travel...silly mommy :-)

Visiting II

Then we traveled the short distance from Jesse's house to visit Grandma and Gramps and our cousins and to share some Christmas time with them!

Auntie bought Matteo a Komodo Dragon....good job Auntie, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HE ASKED HER FOR..and she did it all on her own (if you knew Auntie you would know what a huge accomplishment this is)...... why Daddy felt the need to photograph him is beyond me.. but alas he is now part of the family (today Matteo informed me the komodo dragon is mommy to 4 of Matteo's baby frogs....).

Grandma, with her 3 grandsons.

Move over Chloe, I'd like to crawl in there with you!

Visiting III

Uncle Jason popped over for a visit and boy was Andrew happy to see his Daddy....

but to our delight Uncle Jason stayed and played for a bit...and met Chloe for the first time :-)

Yes Chloe, it WAS a long day.

Christmas morning I

Before the boys arose Christmas morning, Chloe and Mommy awoke early and enjoyed some girl time together...... no I wasn't naked, just Chloe as I was giving her her medicine.

and yes, Santa came!

What made my holiday extra special.....Daddy putting lights around the back door for me...not sure why it reminds me of those people who live in co-ops and decorate their porches :-) and I love it. Also, when I would look out the back window, I would see the christmas lights of our neighbors and feel so happy, so I wanted to return the smile to them...I hope it worked :-)

Clearly Santa heard our request for a green dragon (the hit of the day for sure).

Christmas II

Santa left Chloe a sled which I am sure she will grow into.

And also a mini bag of M&M's for Matteo which he ate (18 m&ms to be exact, we counted)......

And once again last minute as we are all still sicck we decided to go to Oma's house (great grandma's) for a Christmas supper (cold cuts).

Merry Christmas Grandma

Merry Christmas

And as the day drew to a close, everyone grew tired...

Gramps....

Daddy.....

Chloe May.....

and Matteo.

Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve I

Christmas Eve at Aunt Lois' house almost didn't happen for our family as Matteo and Mommy too are sick with double ear infections.... 3 out of 4 of us (6 ears!) is that some kind of record?

But alas after a 3 hour nap Matteo woke up refreshed and we knew Chloe would be fine wherever Mommy was, so we decided last minute to pack up the car and head out~!

Of course after a long road trip who doesn't have to use the potty?

Santa visited - which was very generous of him considering all of the stops he has to make on Christmas Eve night!

Even Gramps enjoyed Santa

Santa even had some surprises for the adults.

Christmas Eve II

Never one to miss a photo opp, Matteo took to Grandma's lap for a cuddle.

Since she was still under the weather, Chloe enjoyed Christmas Eve in her Pj's.

There's our Darling Aunt Lois who hosted the whole evening (well done Dear!)

And here is a picture of Grandma and Gramps with all of their grandchildren...(left to right), JJ, Kimmie, Andrew (siblings); Jessie; Chloe and Matteo (siblings)...lovely wouldn't you say?

free trial

Matteo enjoyed a free trial class at a gym -- not too nearby but worth the trip.....

unfortunately mommy couldn't take him (daddy did) because I was at the doctor with Chloe learning she has a double ear infection..poor chloe :-(

hot coco

Funny story, I once was talking to a friend who went to a party where there was a cotton candy machine (i think) and she was telling her son to try it...and then hindsight she was wondering why she would do such a thing.

Below I gave Matteo some hot chocolate (a treat - - I bought a single packet from the store and sprinkled it in for color)...anyway, today I thought it would be fun to let him try a mini marshmellow.....well I put it in his cup and he didn't like it and wanted me to get the rest out..and I found myself telling him, "you'll like it try again" over and over....

in the end I took them out...just thought it was a funny story...and alas much to Grandma's dismay Matteo enjoys some decaf tea over hot chocolate :-)

Blizzard 09

We started Christmas week with a visit from...... the snow fairy? Over two feet it is reported we received and boy do I beleive it...

Matteo didn't enjoy the snow all that much - perhaps because he is nursing a cold.

A view from the top.

After joking around how we really don't need to shovel because where do we have to go...Daddy did indeed shovel...but really where do we have to go...oh yes post office tomorrow :-)

It was an exhausing day Chloe May :-) Sweet Dreams.

Preparing for Blizzard 09

Before the blizzard arrived in town, I sent Daddy and Matteo to pick out a Christmas tree this morning ..

and then we went to a live performance at our local theatre. And for Matteo who has very little TV in his daily life, this was a real treat - every time the lights dimmed he said "is it over" and sadly after 75 minutes it did come to an end. Chloe however slept though the whole performance...why did I have to buy her a ticket too?

And alas when we came home Grandma sent Daddy a package.....a blizzard is coming Matteo not a 90 degree day which requires the sunglasses :-)

Tree decorating

And while the blizzard arrived in the form of snow flurries, we took to decorating our tree purchased earlier in the day....

and Aunt Lois you are correct, no ornaments were placed higher on the tree than Matteo can reach.

And while decorating the tree we were treated to fire trucks and Santa ... no he didn't come to the house Daddy and Matteo tracked him down as he passed us last year and really I pay taxes too come visit us Santa.

C O O K I E S

Today we decided to use our new pan from Target and make some Christmas cookies (the pan had molds cut out of christmas trees, wreaths, etc.) Daddy really REALLY enjoyed this and Matteo really enjoyed the food coloring phase!

A little too much .....he needed to regroup in the corner (poor matteo)

Chloe slept...

And Matteo was on kitchen clean up (not really).

I smell snow in the air..check back in a few days :-)
